giaOn the 28th April I competed in Ancona at the European masters .

I had previously ran a new masters W40 record at Loughborough in February (8.01) but unfortunately I was plagued with tonsillitis and the flu and missed 2 months of training and racing .

With just 1week to go while still on antibiotics  I decided to still go and attempt to sprint.

In the Heats I took a nasty fall out of the blocks and had very nasty cuts and bruises to my legs arms and pelvis . I regained myself and continued to compete coming in 2nd place this bought me to the finals in which I executed well and finished with all the strength and speed I had left . My end result was joint 4th with a time of 8.11.

Some say I shouldn’t of gone but I say champions are the ones that get up after falling!
